Accra Hearts of Oak struggled to break down a resilient Legon Cities side as the 10-man Royals earned a goalless draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in a BetPawa Premier League matchday 15 fixture.
It was as frenetic and entertaining game as a goalless stalemate could be, with Legon Cities player Nii Bortey sent off for a poor challenge on Clinton Appiah.
Despite the red card, Maxwell Konadu’s side showed far more steel and hit the post in the first half.
Hearts of Oak pressed high in the second half, but could not break down the Royals, who were beaten by Bechem United on Friday.
After snatching a vital win over the weekend against Medeama, Coach Slavko Matic maintained his winning team with Inkoom leading once again as the captain.
They were hoping to move to the second place on the league table but the draw leaves them in third with 25 points. They will drop to fourth should Kumasi Asante Kotoko beat Karela United on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Legon Cities, who are yet to win in the Premier League since their 3-0 win over Kotoku Royals in December 2022 find themselves at the 14th position with 18 points.
