Asante Kotoko head coach Seydou Zerbo admits that they caused their own defeat on Thursday against Karela United, saying his side could have turned things had they taken their chances.
The Porcupine Warriors were succumbed to a 1-0 defeat in Anyinaase and slipped from the top four to the fifth position.
Karela United scored courtesy of Attah Kumi through a controversial penalty in the 60th minute.
However, the decision to award the penalty is being criticised by the supporters of the Porcupine Warriors.
The league champions were on the front foot but they missed several chances to turn the match around.
And Coach Zerbo was left to rue his side’s missed chances after the game.
“The difference is we had the chance to score. We defeated ourselves because we had all the chances but we couldn’t score and eventually the referee gave unwarranted penalty to them and they have their goal to score,” he told StarTimes.
