Wa All Stars head coach John Paintsil has confirmed to Fox FM sports desk that a ‘macho’ man led by Frederick Agbenyo, a member of the FA Cup Management Committee chased him from the club’s training ground on Tuesday whiles supervising the usual training session of the players.
According to Paintil Agbenyo, who he perceives to be a relative of hi co-shareholder in the team, led the macho man to attack him to vacate the training ground on the basis that he (John Paintsil) does not hold a CAF Licence A coaching certificate which by requirement, permits him to be the head coach of Wa All Stars.
“Last Tuesday morning we were at the training ground where I was training the boys then Fred Agbenyo came there with some macho guy”, Paintil told Fox FM. “To me well, I can say he is a relative to the person am working with, that’s what I know, something like that is what I’ve heard but I haven’t done my investigation to ask yet. He came there and said he doesn’t want me to interfere with the team’s programme simply because I don’t ‘A’ Licence which we are waiting for an answer from the FA whether they’ll allow me or not so he doesn’t want me to destruct the training”, Paintsil recounted.
Paintsil has worked with Wa All Stars for about a year now as head coach, having prepared the team for the 2019/2020 football season. All the other technical members of the club were brought in by him as they work to take the team to the apex. It must however be noted that John Paintsil does not hold a CAF Licence A certificate as he confirmed to FOX FM last week. He feels unfairly treated by the developments and alleged that the macho man who came with Frederick Agbenyo, threatened to slap him if he does not keep quiet and leave the training ground.
“I told him [Agbenyo] I have been training the boys and I came with my own technical men to help build the team, at the end of the day you are not right to tell me what to do in the team because you are not included in the [partners] of the team, even the one with whom I broght the team has not told me not to train the boys. So the guy he came with threatened to slap me if I don’t get quiet, so the guy came to push me and then Agbenyo started talking too much, so for peace to reign I had to leave the field and go home to call my partner (who is out of the country) to enquire if he sent them. When I asked him he said he knows nothing about it, so that is what happened”, Paintsil concluded.
