Ghana Football Association have withheld the registration of Asante Kotoko attacker Nicholas Mensah due to violations in the process of securing the services of the player as revealed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in their response to the protest by Aduana Stars.
Aduana Stars filed a protest against the player mentioned after a scoreless draw between the two sides in the Ghana Premier league week 10.
Kotoko was found to be innocent in the matter after Aduana hinted the FA to charge Kotoko for changing the name of the player.
The porcupine warriors have issued a statement concerning the fate of the player after the decision of the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
“The protest case has been determined and duly dismissed. However, the registration of Nicholas Mensah has been suspended due to infractions which according to the Disciplinary Committee occurred prior to him joining Asante Kotoko.
“Our legal team is dealing with the matter and would take the necessary steps to assist the player”
“Nicholas will be given the necessary psychological help throughout this debacle” the statement says
Nicholas Mensah joined the defending champions at the beginning of the season on a three-year deal from Delsanco FC and was in a good form for the Kumasi-based club before the incident.
