Former Asante Kotoko and Cameroonian international Etouga Frank Mbella has shared his experience about his departure from the Kumasi-based club.
Etouga joined Kotoko from Camerounian side Fortuna du Mfou and went on to become a fan favourite pushing the Porcupine Warriors to clinch the Ghana Premier league.
Mbella left his mark on Ghana football in his only season during the 2021/2022 campaign when he scored 21 goals in 30 league appearances and was pipped to the golden boot by Yaw Annor who scored 23 goals
In an exclusive interview with ghanasportspage.com, the goal poached shared his absence from Kotoko
“I made a choice to leave Asante Kotoko after helping them win the league title and I do not regret any decision to leave the team,” he told ghanasportspage.com.
“I’m a professional player and I stay focused to attain my goals in life. Currently, my focus is on Al Masry and to help the team win glories” he added.
The striker refused to travel with the Asante Kotoko to Sudan for their pre-season tour and highlighted his desire and quest to force his way out of the club.
The Cameroonian forward was reported to have received offers from a number of European clubs including Udinese but opted to join the Al Masry in the Egyptian league on a permanent deal.
