Former Ghana Premier League winner, Yahaya Mohammed has reacted to Hearts of Oak and Kotoko’s recent ‘strange’ run of inconsistency.
Yahaya was left unimpressively by the performance of the two clubs in the ongoing campaign.
The player believes most of the current Hearts and Kotoko players are below standard.
Despite occupying a place in the top four, their campaign has been marked by too much inconsistency.
The Porcupine Warriors have failed to claim victory in their last seven away fixtures. The Phobians also fell behind after losing 2-0 to leaders Aduana Stars in Accra on Sunday. They have picked just three wins in their last ten home matches.
Speaking about the performance of the two clubs, the Aduana Stars forward said, “Complacency is not the problem of Asante Kotoko but they have the same problem like Accra Hearts of Oak. Football has changed. Yes, we understand that football is for the young ones now, those who can run 90 minutes and 120 minutes but we have players who deserve to play the club.
“Is not about your interest. Is about the club’s interest first because you can’t just take anyone to come and play Kotoko or Hearts of Oak. Before coming to play Kotoko you must have five or six years of experience in the first division or you are well known in the Premier League”, he explained.
“Those who played for Hearts and Kotoko years ago were coming from their youth teams but unknown players are the ones playing today.
“We understand that you can bring someone and transform the person. But how many of them have made it?” Yahaya Mohammed told Ghanasportspage.com.
