Former Accra Hearts of Oak technical team member and captain, Esme Papa Mends has identified Asante Kotoko as the most inconsistent team in the ongoing campaign.
Mends disclosed that with the way the Porcupine Warriors are approaching their matches, they would not find a space in the top four of the BetPawa Premier League this term.
The ex-Phobian believes Hearts of Oak and Bechem United can be in the top four, admitting Aduana Stars can win the league.
The Ghanaian champions have remained inconsistent under Coach Seydou Zerbo, going winless in their last eight away games in all competitions.
During an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, the former Accra Hearts of Oak captain complained about Kotoko’s current situation and feels their performance will drive them out of the top four.
“Accra Hearts of Oak and Bechem United can be in the top four. Bechem United is a strong team now but for Kotoko, I’m not sure they can finish in the top four.
“Asante Kotoko is the most inconsistent team this season. They are ‘very very’ inconsistent. We’ve read many articles with people blaming people, referees and so on but it is time they should also take the blame. When they draw or lose they will blame others but when they win some people will take the credit for themselves. It shouldn’t be so and I don’t think Kotoko will be in the top four this season,” Mends stated.
Asante Kotoko is third on the league table with 28 points after eighteen games. They are winless in their last two Premier League games.
The Reds were eliminated from the MTN FA Cup on Sunday after a 1-0 defeat to Aduana Stars in Dormaa.
