Former Accra Hearts of Oak midfielder, Kofi Abanga has refused to rule his former club out of the Premier League title race despite the team’s inconsistency.
The Rainbows made light of the off-field issues surrounding the club on Sunday afternoon to beat their sworn rivals Asante Kotoko 1-0 in Accra.
They will set a task of attempting to close the gap on Aduana Stars when they face Bibiani Gold Stars at the Dun’s Park this weekend.
Their former midfielder believes they can still fight to win the league title despite the issues surrounding the team.
Asked if the Rainbows could still involve themselves in the race, Abagna, who joined Accra Hearts of Oak under controversial circumstances in the 2000’s said:
“Is too early to count Hearts of Oak out of the title race. The Rainbow boys can do everything that’s why our motto is ‘Never Say Die’. You can see that our tactics worked against Kotoko on Sunday and our assistant coach [David Ocloo] too was good. We played better than them and we also won. That is is Hearts of Oak for you. It is too early to count them out,” he told Ghanasportspage.com.
