Head coach for the Central African Republic, Raoul Savoy spoke candidly to Ghanasportspage.com aftermath of their double-header against Madagascar in the AFCON qualifiers.

Madagascar suffered crushing 3-0 and 2-0 defeats at the hands of an efficient Central African Republic on matchday 3 and matchday 4.

The Fauves can now move on without pressure as they place 2nd position in Group E with 7 points.

As for Madagascar, they have probably put an end to any dreams of participating in the next AFCON in Ivory Coast. They are last on the table with just one point from four games.

After beating the Barea men to keep alive their hopes of advancing to the tournament in Cote d’Ivoire, Coach Raoul Savoy attributed their victory to hard work.

“There’s no secret but we are working hard for about two years now and step by step we are getting a good team. When you are working with peace of mind you take your time to do something great. Is just a step. It is left with two games to qualify for the AFCON so you have to be very easy and keep working hard to what will happen in June,” Coach Raoul told Ghanasportspage.com.

He added: “We drew against Ghana weeks before the World Cup on matchday 2. We are working hard, step by step with young ones. Some players are playing in other African countries so we have people coming from everywhere and we are trying to bring them together and to be one,” the tactician concluded.

Central African Republic will wrap up their 2023 AFCON qualifiers against Ghana and Angola in June.
