Interim coach of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Abdulai Gazale has named his starting eleven for their crunch outstanding betPawa Premier League game against Regional rival, Kumasi King Faisal at the Baba Yara Sports stadium this evening.
Danlad Ibrahim returned from international duty with the Black Meteors in the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers but he is on benched as Frederick Asare maintains his position. Coach Abdulai Gazale is also seeking to defend the League trophy and has paraded a strong starting XI to beat King Faisal back-to-back tonight.
Kotoko’s starting XI will see the likes of Mohammed Alhassan, Maxwell Agyemang, Augustine Agyapong, Richard Boadu, Steven Mukwala, Enock Morrison and Richmond Lamptey and others.
The Porcupine Warriors will start the game without Mohammed Sherrif, Issac Oppong, Mfegue Georges, Mubarik Yussif, Kwadwo Appau and others. All the above mention players are on the bench.
The Matchday 21 fixture which was originally scheduled for Sunday, March 12, will pit the city rivals against each other at a very familiar ground, Kumasi.
The match promises to be one of special interest to Asante Kotoko fans and King Faisal as well, considering the factors surrounding the fixture due to King Faisal having proved to be a thorn in the flesh of the Porcupine Warriors since last season but Kotoko beat them 3-0 in the first leg clash at the same venue.
