FA Executive Council seeking James Kwesi Appiah is rekindling memories of his playing days when football fans chased and adored his presence whenever he went with his club Asante Kotoko and the Black Stars.
Affectionately called Mayele ,Kwesi Appiah keep exhibiting the same honest , philanthropic and heroic traits which made him a darling captain for his club and the national team in his playing days and even when he became a coach .
He visited Sunyani and duly contributed his part towards the renovation of the Coronation Park, making a payment of two thousand Ghana cedis to the project . People were seen following him and encouraging him to continue his efforts in getting elected to the Executive Council of the GFA.
Kwesi is currently a member of the Asante Kotoko interim management and is also seeking to get elected to the highest decision making body executive council.
He seems favourite to snatch a slot and as a club executive pointed out in Sunyani “the likes of Kwesi Appiah is rare to find and his experience and knowledge in football is needed at the very top to help mould Ghana football and for that reason, he should be helped to get elected in the elections so everyone can benefit from his vast knowledge”.
It is believed Chelsea, Bofoakwa, Aduana, Nsoatreman, and Bofoakwa, all clubs in the Bono and Ahafo regions have resolved to throw their weight behind Kwesi Appiah as he represents their interest and that of general football better.
Ghanasportspage.com is hinted because though Oduro Sarfo and Kinsley Osei Bonsu are linked to Chelsea and Bechem United, the clubs have not hidden their interest in rooting for Kwesi as their first choice and favorite to get elected. The source in Sunyani told this website that Kwesi is a son of the area and better equipped to serve football interests thus the opportunity should not be missed to elect him to the Executive Council.
