Premier league outfits Karela United have completed their fifth (6th) signing in the ongoing transfer window as the team readies for the 2020/21 football season.
The “Pride and Passion” side took to social media on Wednesday to announce the transfer of former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Umar Basiru to the club. Details of the transfer remain as sketchy as the club’s announcement of the deal, but the 22-year old attacking midfielder is expected to be a great addition for the Ainyinase based club.
Umar Basiru joined Asante Kotoko from West African Football Academy (WAFA) during the 2019/2019 league season, but had unfavourable stay at the club under the then packed midfield under the then coach CK Akonnor.
Due to lack of playing time under coach Akonnor and his successor Kjetil Zachariassen, Umar Basiru eventually terminated his contract with the Porcupine Warriors after being transfer listed. He has successfully completed a move Karela United ahead of the 2020/2021 league season, hoping to make impact.
Karela United recently signed Augustine Randolf, Prosper Arvor, Obed Kofi Sam, Yaw Ansah Foforo (goalkeeper) and Adotey Godfred.
