Black Meteors head coach Ibrahim Tanko, former Asante Kotoko midfielder Yussif Alhassan Chibsah and Mr. Yaw Amoh Sarpong have joined forces to take over premier league side King Faisal FC as financiers of the Kumasi based club.
Former Asante Kotoko policy analyst Yaw Amoh Sarpong, a lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), is making a sensational return to football administration after leaving his post at the Porcupine Warriors, and will now, together with Tanko and Chibsah take over at the helms of King Faisal Babies.
Earlier, talks were far advanced with former
King Faisal and Black Stars defender Samuel Osei Kuffour to take over
the club, but the former Bayern Munich star reportedly declined to the
offer.
The takeover by Ibrahim Tanko, Amoh Sarpong and Yussif Chibsah brings along huge boost to the Babies ahead of the new football season.
After the deal is finalized, the trio have agreed to recruit the following players for the club to augment the current squad for the upcoming league season:
1. Stephen Nyarko
2. Samudeen Ibrahim
3. Martin Antwi
3. Daniel Nii Adjei
4. Umar Bashiru
Samudeen Ibrahim, formerly of Accra Hearts of Oak, trained with the Babies on Thursday ahead of his move to the club as talks are nearing completion.
King Faisal were reinstated in the top flight at the GFA Congress held on October 25 this year along with Accra Great Olympics, and will now take part in the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season.
