The Ashanti derby between Nations FC and Asante Kotoko failed to produce a winner on Sunday as the game ended 2-2.
Steven Mukwala and Michael Kyei Dwamena scored the goals for the visitors whilst Nations FC benefited from an own goal by Kotoko defender Ansu Henry and a stoppage-time penalty converted by Amidou Diarra.
This is the full reaction of Nations boss Kasim Mingle after the game :
“I am very sad. We should have won the game hands down. Our boys lost concentration and they punished us with that.”, Kasim Ocansey Mingle said after the game.
“I told my them (his players) we are playing better than and we are creating all the chances so they push more forward and we can equalize and add another one to it. If such an incident had not happened, we would have equalized and added another one to it. It was unfortunate you saw the goal that they scored, the second goal, the linesman waved and he brought the flag down again. Immediately he waved the boys relaxed and they kicked the ball into the net but it is football so we will take it, we will go and work for our next match “
“I am not surprised at all, the training they have been going through is a small thing, they have been doing better than what they did today. As you said inexperience, as time goes on they will be maturing.”
“It was an obvious penalty, a clear penalty. Immediately it happened I started shouting penalty, we had two here in the first half, this is obvious, so if you go and watch you will see “
“We are all in Kumasi, we are brothers, so after the game forget about everything, let’s cooperate with each other and move on “.
