Former Accra Hearts of Oak defender Caleb Amankwah has spoken about the club’s poor form in the Ghana Premier League season.
Amankwah who also played for WAFA and Aduana FC is now on the books of Ethiopia Commercial Bank FC.
The Phobians, under the managerial leadership of Dutch trainer Martin Koopman, have won one game after five matches into the 2023/24 campaign.
Hearts of Oak have also failed to win any of their last three matches after losing at Bofoakwa Tano and drawing at home against Dreams FC and Samartex.
“I do watch the games of Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko. I have been following them thanks to the time difference. Mostly the times we play our matches here happen to be in the morning in Ghana and so after playing, I do watch some of the Hearts and Kotoko games.”, Caleb Amankwah stated in an exclusive interview with Ghanasportpage.com on Monday.
“I can see that some of the old players are there, they have also signed a lot of new players, some of them came from Division One and Two. What you have to understand is that pre-season games are different from league matches.
What I believe is that the coach shouldn’t drop certain experienced players. At least eight senior players should be starting games for the club and then a few new players are added. But when you parade plenty of new players, things will be difficult for the team.”, Caleb added.
