BETPAWA PL WRAP UP: No celebrations as Kotoko suffer defeat on Prosper Ogum’s 46th birthday, David Oduro claws Accra Lions from defeat, Medeama SC return to winning ways

The defeat means Coach Prosper Ogum, who marked his 46th birthday on Sunday and his boys have only won twice in their last nine games, recording three loses and four draws

Dreams FC defeated Asante Kotoko 1-0 on Sunday in a matchday 9 clash in the Betpawa Premier League.

A first half free-kick from Abdul Aziz was all the visitors needed at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to secure the maximum points.

The results leaves the Porcupine Warriors 14th on the league table with Dreams FC occupying the 10th position.

Elsewhere, Medeama SC, who lost 3-1 against Accra Hearts of Oak on week 8 bounced back with a 2-0 victory over Legon Cities at the El Wak Stadium in Accra.

Despite Godknows Dzapkasu’s red card in the first half, the defending champions were able to beat Coach Paa Kwasi Fabin’s side through Kamaradini Mumuni and Kofi Asmah.

The win lifts Medeama SC to the 5th place, whilst Legon Cities sit 11th.

In Sunyani, Bofoakwa Tano were able to pick their third win of the season via captain Saaka Dauda’s first half strike against Nations FC at the Coronation Park.

However, Aduana Stars also extended their winning streak to four with a slim win over Heart of Lions.

Goals from Kelvin Obeng and Isaac Mintah powered the visitors to a 2-1 win on Sunday.

The Ogya Boys are currently on top of the league table with 18 points after nine games.

At Golden City Park, FC Samartex were also beaten 1-0 by Berekum Chelsea.

Awuah Dramani’s 37th minute goal gave the Bibires the narrow win over the Premier League returnees.

The win takes coach Christopher Ennin’s side to 6th on the League table with Samartex lying 4th.

In Tamale – RTU failed to get back to winning ways after suffering defeats in the hands of Nations FC and Aduana Stars.

The Nothern-based side were held to goalless stalemate by Bechem United at the Alliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

On the other hand, Bibiani Gold Stars and Accra Lions also played a 1-1 draw at the Dun’s Park.

David Oduro clawed the visitors from defeat when he scored on the 72nd second to cancel Adraman’s 63rd minute strike.
