The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has nominated the Black Queens of Ghana in the women’s team of the year category of the 2023 CAF Awards.
The Black Queens have been nominated in the CAF Women’s Team of the Year category following their spectacular form under coach Nora Häuptle.
The women’s national team has yet to taste defeat since Nora Häuptle took over the coaching job from Mercy Tagoe in January 2023.
The Black Queens will face competition from Nigeria, Zambia, South Africa and Morocco, who were at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Other teams competing for the same award scheduled for next month in Morocco are Burkina Faso, Malawi, Burundi and Senegal.
The Black Queens have qualified for the third round of the Olympic Games qualifiers and are still in contention to qualify for next year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
