Premier League sides Accra Hearts Of Oak, Legon Cities, Great Olympics and Accra Lions have been thrown into a state of worry following the statement released by the national sports authority on Monday morning, 21st nove to close Accra sports stadium in December.
The four clubs use the facility for their home matches in the premier league and other GFA-sanctioned competitions but now would have to search for a new home ground after the Sports Ministry announced that the stadium will be closed temporarily effective Friday, December 1, 2023, for renovation purposes.
In a statement released on Monday, November 212023, the sector Ministry explained that the decision to close down the stadium is “to enable the Youth and Sports Ministry and the National Sports Authority to have ample uninterrupted time to fix critical places of the stadium”.
