Ghana Athletics Vice President Charles Osei Asibey has been named to a four-member cross-functional committee to steer the affairs of the federation.
Vice President in charge of kids and women development in Ghana Athletics Mrs Comfort Selby Agyapong will also serve on the committee along with Mr. Andrews Agbo Kitcher whose main role is to lead the committee on matters related to fundraising and sponsorships.
Meanwhile, educationalist and long-serving member of school athletics Sulemana Zacharia Yeboah is expected to bring his expertise on technical matters to the fore. Furthermore, the former headmaster of Islamic SHS will oversee all technical activities of the federation. He will work to improve coaching, introduce development programs and policies, and the training and mentorship of technical officials.
Agbo Kitcher will ensure that the financial situation of the federation experiences tremendous improvement through the sourcing of vital resources in the areas of financial facilities.
One of the main tasks of Osei Asibey is to spearhead a new restructuring program of the federation and manage the administrative affairs of the federation as well as its corporate affairs.
One of the strong focal points for the federation during the mandate period of the new executives is to draw key programs and strategies to unearth talents. Mrs. Selby Agyapong carries the mantle of ensuring that there is a running program to arouse the interest of young school girls in the sport in the country.
The new executives of the federation have already met with the Minister for Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif.
