Former Asante Kotoko and Ghanaian attacker, Yahaya Mohammed has advised Jonathan Sowah of Medeama Sporting Club to change his attitude.
Jonathan Sowah was sent off during Medeama’s CAF Champions League clash against Yanga SC on Wednesday afternoon few hours later following the announcement of Ghana’s provisional squad for the upcoming AFCON.
The attacker’s frustrating afternoon ended in disaster after missing a penalty in Medeama’s 3-0 defeat to the Tanzanian giants.
He had already been on a yellow card and received a second for an unnecessary tackle.
Sowah’s attitude after his first Black Stars call-up has been questioned and described as ‘shocking’ and ‘sickening’ by Yahaya Mohammed, who won two Ghana Premier League titles for Asante Kotoko.
“How is his performance after his Black Stars call-up? He is arrogant now, not going to training, receiving unnecessary cards, indiscipline in the field of the play. It can affect you because you are not there yet so that is the problem,” Yahaya told Mothers 102.7FM.
“He is one of the finest strikers Ghana can rely on but he may end up spending all his time in Ghana if they don’t manage him well to stop being arrogant. We don’t want it to be like that.
“I know him and he is one of the finest strikers but he is arrogant now after his first national team call-up.
“I won’t be surprised if he makes the final squad because he deserves it. We have to prepare him well because he can become one of the top strikers for the Black Stars and Ghana but he should stop being arrogant and indiscipline. I’m just being honest with him because I like him,” he said.
