Defending Ghana Premier League champions, Medeama Sporting Club will host Bibiani Goldstars at the Akoon Park today.
As the only Ghanaian club in the CAF Champions League this season, the Tarkwa-based outfit will make a return to the GPL since 19th November where they lost 1-0 to Asante Kotoko.
In Medeama’s last six games in the Ghana Premier League, they have lost 4 and won 2. Their wins came against FC Samartex and Legon Cities.
Medeama are 12th on the league log with 16 points ; playing 4 games less. Having lost their last games in the league, Evans Adotey’s men need to come back to winning ways.
Bibiani Goldstars are also 14th on the table with just 15 points. Frimpong Manso’s side have only won a game in their last six games. They have lost thrice and drawn 2 in that period.
They returned to winning ways after beating Samartex 3-0 at home and will need to replicate that against the defending champions.
In the last four meetings involving the teams, Medeama has won one while the miners have been winless. They have lost one and drew three.
Medeama will miss the services of their top striker Jonathan Sowah Nurudeen Abdulai will also miss the clash after picking up injury against Young Africans.
For Bibiani Goldstars, coach Frimpong Manso will have the full squad for selection.
