Inaki Williams doubtful for 2023 AFCON- Club confirms

Athletic Club have confirmed that Black Stars striker Inaki Williams needs rest due to illness.

The club in a statement released on Monday, January 1, 2023, noted that the player is under the weather after assessment by the medical team.

“The striker has been assessed by the medical services of the Club and is suffering from an illness which requires him rest.”

The player’s situation has cast doubt over his availability for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

Meanwhile, the Spanis-born Ghanaian was named in the Black Stars’ 27-man squad for the 2023 AFCON.

The AFCON would be his second major tournament for Ghana after featuring in the 2022 FIFA World Cup Since switching nationality to Ghana in 2022.
