Qatari side, Al-Arabi are currently in advanced talks with highly-rated GPL defender Maxwell Agyemang over a possible move in the coming days, Ghanasportspage.com understands.
The talented centre-back has one year left on his contract with the former Anyinase-based club. He joined them on a two-year deal in September 2023 and has become the team’s main pillar.
Agyemang was previously Asante Kotoko employee from 2021 to 2023. Despite his impressive form during the 2022/23 campaign, he was deemed surplus to requirements, sparking significant interest from multiple clubs in the domestic league before joining Karela United on a free transfer.
He was positioned in the heart of defence, making notable appearances to help Kotoko lift the 2021/22 GPL title.
Despite Karela’s difficult campaign, Maxwell Agyemang is widely known as one of the best defenders in the Ghanaian top-flight.
Rumors of his departure have been growing in recent months, and among his possible destinations has been one in particular, the Qatari Stars League.
The club will be eager to reinforce their defense with the signing of the promising defender.
