Asante Kotoko forward Solomon Sarfo Taylor has claimed that the club intend to treat him unfairly adfter both parties held talks over contract termination.
According to Taylor, the club proposed the contract termination after new coach Prosper Ogum Narteh labeled him surplus to requirement.
He said he then demanded at least half of the salary of the remaining months of the contract before termination, which the club refused.
The former Karela United man indicated that Kotoko wanted his contract terminated without compensation, which led to a rift between the two parties.
“I had a contract with the club but the new coach informed me and other players that we are not in his plans. So they said I should leave. At that time, just returned from abroad, and if I had been informed earlier I wouldn’t have returned.” He told KAS FM 106.3 in Asante mampong
“So I told them that, if they want me to leave then they should at least settle half of my remaining salary. They said they had no money for me and it looked like they wanted to cheat me. That is the genesis of our issues”
In a surprising turn of events, Asante Kotoko has summoned the player to the Ghana Football Association for playing with forged documents, specifically, a change of name.
Reacting to the club’s latest action, Sarfo Taylor said Kotoko is fighting to avoid paying his due settlement.
“That’s why they accused me of changing my name. The name everyone knows is Solomon Sarfo Taylor, so I don’t know how why they claim I’ve changed my name.”
Solomon Sarfo Talor joined Asante Kotoko in 2021 , signing a three-and-half-year deal with the Porcupine Warriors.
