Real Tamale United (RTU) will host Asante Kotoko at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex on Saturday June 8, 2024.

United, who are bottom of the table, will aim to win against the Porcupine Warriors to placate their fans amid a torrid campaign.

Anything apart from a win will confirm RTU’s relegation to the second-tier of Ghanaian football next season.

Asante Kotoko will be keen to make a swift return to winning ways after losing 1-0 at home to Accra Great Olympics in their last encounter.

The record Ghana Premier League holders, who have missed out on the league crown, are placed 10th on the league table with 43 points.

RTU, who have an outstanding match against Dreams FC, are still bottom of the table with 31 accumulated points,  having won 2 and suffered 3 defeats in their last 5 outings.

The Tamale based have managed to secure 28 points at home, scoring 19 and conceding 15 goals. They are ranked as the 5th lowest performing side in this campaign.

The basement side have won 4 of their last 5 consecutive home games. Real Tamale United have conceded the most goals in the league this season (50).

Asante Kotoko are 10th on the league table after 32 matches with 43 points, having won 2, drawn 1 and suffered 2 defeats in their last 5 league games.

The Porcupine Warriors are ranked as the 3rd best away side in this campaign, after recording 4 wins, 4 draws and 8 defeats in 16 appearances with 16 points accumulated, scoring 15 and conceding 18.

The former Premier League champions are winless in their last 5 consecutive away league matches.

Real Tamale United have played Asante Kotoko twice at home in the league since returning into the top-flight in the 2021/22 season with the returnees winning both encounters.

In the 2021/22 season, Real Tamale United beat Asante Kotoko 2-1 and repeated same score line in the 2022/23 season.

Real Tamale United star man Mohammed Mankuyeli has scored 11  goals and will be available for the game on Saturday.

Other players like, Issah Ahmed, Mohammed Iddriss, Baba Kushibo, Faisal Gariba, Awudu Mohammed, Adams Hafiz, Abdul Sayibu, Asuno Adjetey, Husein Bilal, Lord Adabo, Abu Mohammed, Alhassan Musah and Jorge Renchi could all be available for selection on Saturday.

Stephen Mukwala Desse is the second top scorer in the league currently and will hope to extend his 14-goal tally on Saturday.

The likes of Justice Blay, Emmanuel Kotei, Enoch Morrison, Serge Eric Zeze, Andrews Ntim, Nicholas Bonsu, Yahaya Baba, Nurudeen Yussif Mohammed, Peter Acquah, Bernard Somuah, Issahak Fuseini, Shadrack Addo, Sherif Mohammed and Kalo Ouattara could all be available for the game on Saturday.
