Asante Kotoko’s new striker Michael Vincius is barred from using the vacant jersey number 9 left by former goal poacher Kwame Opoku in accordance with regulations of the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Asante Kotoko’s new striker Michael Vincius is set to wear a new jersey number other than that left vacant by the former striker, Kwame Opoku.
The Brazilian forward will wear the jersey number 77, contrary to fans’ expectations of a take over of the available number 9.
In line with Club Licensing Regulations, registration, and the laws of the FA, it is not allowed for different players to use the same jersey number in the same season. This is to avoid confusion in disciplinary records and other measures whereby the records of players may get mixed up.
The new striker Vinicius is likely to partner with Naby Keita or Andy Kumi ahead of Bechem United game.
