Hearts of Oak is set to announce the release of 15 players from the team ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
The decision comes after a disappointing 2023/24 season, where the team narrowly escaped relegation and failed to make a significant impact in the domestic cup competition.
The players who will be leaving the club include four goalkeepers and 13 outfield players who have failed to impress with their performance over some time. The list includes:
Goalkeepers, Richard Attah, Richmond Ayi, and Kwadwo Osei Bonsu and outfield players, Kofi Agbesimah, Liventus Arthur, Abdul Aziz Nuruddeen, Glid Otanga Mvou, Linda Mtange, Zakaria Yakubu, Issah Kuka, Enock Asubonteng, Salifu Ibrahim, Suraj Seidu, Evans Adomako, and Salim Adams.
Some of the players have seen their contracts expire with the club, while others will be released due to their below-par performance over the years.
The club has already signed two new players from Nations FC, Asamoah Boateng Afriyie and Michael Awuah, who impressed in their debut game for Hearts of Oak.
The team has been given a short break after the recent game against Asante Kotoko SC and will resume training in a few days to prepare for the new season with an entirely new squad.
