Former GPL star Kofi Abanga has raised concern over Hearts of Oak’s style of signing.
Abanga speaking in an interview on Monday appealed to the leadership of his former club to stop the board members from signing players for the coach.
“Every club has an expert for player recruitment but not just a management member. It is not done anywhere. All the leaders are assigned for different jobs that’s why we have a team manager, a coach, assistant coach, chairman etc,” Abanga told Ghana’s leading website, Ghanasportspage.
He added: “I hope we won’t repeat last season’s mistake. We had someone who was incharge of recruitment during our time but not a management member. Some of the players were picked through justify. I don’t know why it has changed and it is very shocking for board members to bring in their own players but I know that it will change.”
Kofi Abanga spent seven years with the Phobians, winning the Ghana Premier League in the 2008/2009 season, GHALCA Top 4 twice, the Homowo Cup and the President’s Cup.
