Hearts of Oak Board Member, Vincent Sowah-Odotei, is optimistic that the club is making significant progress in recruiting quality players for the upcoming 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The club has already signed several new players, including Great Olympics goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, Samuel Amofa, Michael Awuah, and Asamoah Boateng Afriyie, following the departures of Glid Otanga and Ibrahim Salifu.

Speaking to ChannelOne TV at a ceremony marking the official handover of the newly constructed Phobia House to the club, Sowah-Odotei emphasized that the transfer period is a marathon, not a sprint.

“The transfer period is a marathon, not a sprint.”

He expressed confidence that the club is on track to make significant signings before the transfer window closes.

“The transfer window is still open, and we believe we are on track,” he stated. “We’re not done yet, but we’re happy with what we’ve done so far.”

Hearts of Oak had a challenging 2023-2024 season, finishing 14th in the Ghana Premier League and navigating through three different coaches. However, Sowah-Odotei believes that the club is making progress in rebuilding their squad and preparing for the new season.

The club will begin their 2024/25 league campaign with a home match against Basake Holy Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium. With a new-look squad and a renewed sense of optimism, Hearts of Oak will be looking to put their poor season behind them and make a strong start to the new campaign.
