Highly-rated Nations FC defender, Razak Simpson, has denied reports that he rejected a move to Asante Kotoko in the ongoing transfer window.
The 26-year-old emerged as one of the best defenders in the recently concluded Ghana Premier League campaign, and has been a top transfer target for several clubs including Kotoko and Hearts of Oak.
According to Simpson, the reports of him rejecting a move to Kotoko are false and should be treated with contempt.
“Then it’s not me. I haven’t said that. Kotoko is a club every footballer would love to play so why will I decline such opportunity. It’s never true I rejected Kotoko because of pressure,” he said in an interview with Kessben FM.
Simpson’s comments come as a surprise to many, as reports had suggested that he was not interested in joining the Porcupine Warriors due to pressure from his family.
However, the defender has dismissed these claims and has instead expressed his desire to join Kotoko.
Nations FC have already commenced preparation for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign next month, and it remains to be seen whether Simpson will be part of the team’s plans.
