Former Hearts of Oak right-back, Ibrahim Larry Sumaila, has spoken out about his time at the club, revealing that he never had any issues with any of the board members or management.
In an interview with Ghanasportspage.com, Sumaila explained that he focused on his own career and playing well for the club, rather than getting caught up in any drama or conflicts with management.
“Every player and how he feels about a particular management member. Personally, I had no issues with any management member, we had an okay relationship because of the future. You may meet him somewhere and might recommend you to a club so I was with everyone.
My own was to come and play for the club and do well. I was concentrated on that more than what the management would do,” he said.
Sumaila also emphasized the importance of players focusing on their own performance and not getting bogged down in rumors or gossip about management.
“My only focus was to play and get to somewhere in my career, I never heard anything bad about me from anyone in the club, and I am glad with that,” he said.
The former defender also spoke about the rumors and gossip that can surround a club, saying that as a player, he never paid attention to them.
“You’d hear Nyaho Tamakloe has done this, Akanbi has done that, but that’s their problem, not mine as a player,” he said.
“You, as a player, have to concentrate on the playing body and the coaching staff and not the management.”
Sumaila Larry is currently a free agent after departing FC Samartex last season.
