Ghana Premier League side Nations FC has bolstered its attacking lineup with the acquisition of forward Ebenezer Offei from Division One club Soccer Intellectuals. The club announced the signing on Tuesday via a post on X.
Ebenezer Offei, a young and promising talent, joins Nations FC as part of the club’s strategy to enhance its squad ahead of the 2024/25 season. The official statement from the club read, “Forward, Ebenezer Offei joins the family from Soccer Intellectuals.”
Offei’s arrival is a key part of Nations FC’s broader efforts to strengthen their roster. He was originally with Kenpong Academy but was shockingly part of the almost fifty players who were asked to go home by the owner Kennedy Agyapong for unexplained reasons.
He then joined Intellectuals and flourished during the season. The tall lanky player who can score with both feet and the head has been compared to the famous Anelka of France and Arsenal fame ,and he also responds to that as his nickname .
The Abrankese-based team made an impressive debut in the Ghana Premier League last season, often seen as strong contenders for the title. Despite their efforts, the team finished in seventh place and is now focused on making a more competitive push in the upcoming season.
Under the leadership of coach Kassim Mingle, Nations FC aims to build on last season’s performance and climb higher in the league standings. The addition of Offei is expected to bring additional dynamism to the squad as they prepare to challenge for the top spots in the league.
The club remains active in the transfer market, continuing to bring in new players to reinforce the team and set their sights on a successful 2024/25 season.
