Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has assured fans that the club is on the path to becoming competitive again, despite recent struggles that saw the team flirting with relegation in the last two seasons.
The Phobians narrowly secured their Premier League status with a crucial 3-2 victory over Bechem United on the final day of the 2023/24 season. Despite these challenges, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe remains optimistic about the club’s future.
In an interview with JoySports, the former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chairman expressed confidence in the club’s long-term strategy.
“I can assure you that within the next five years, you will not believe the improvement—the standard of football alone at Hearts of Oak and its performances within and outside Africa will shock a lot of people,” Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said. “It is a long-term project, and I will tell the supporters that we are building something they will one day be proud of.”
As part of their preparations for the upcoming season, Hearts of Oak have relocated their pre-season camp to Asutsuare in the Shai Osudoku District of the Greater Accra Region. Coach Abubakar Ouattara and his squad will train there for a week before heading to Lome, Togo, for the final phase of their pre-season preparations.
Hearts of Oak will kick off their 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign with a home fixture against debutant side Basake Holy Stars at the Accra Sports Stadium.
