Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has urged his players to work hard and remain focused as they aim to meet the high expectations set for the club this season.
Ogum believes that with determination and concentration, the Porcupine Warriors can compete for titles by the end of the 2024/25 campaign, despite a difficult previous season.Kotoko struggled last year, finishing 12 points behind champions FC Samartex and narrowly avoiding relegation by just five points.
This disappointing finish prompted a major reshuffle within the squad, with over 20 players leaving and more than 11 new signings brought in to strengthen the team.
However, Kotoko has begun the new Ghana Premier League season on a positive note, securing a 1-0 victory over Karela United in their opening match in Nalerigu.
“We should expect this team to do very well by the end of the season, to play well, and win more games,” Ogum said.
“Kotoko is known for winning games. And if you coach or play for Kotoko, it’s a task you need to accomplish. He added.
“You must play well and win games. So, we shouldn’t boast; instead, we need to work harder, stay determined, stay focused, and get the job done. He advised.
“Asante Kotoko will look to continue their winning form when they face Young Apostles on Sunday in match week three of the Ghana Premier League in Obuasi.
