Hearts of Oak board member, Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, has expressed confidence in head coach Aboubakar Ouattara, despite the team’s difficult start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Ouattara has faced mounting pressure from fans following two consecutive defeats—first to Basake Holy Stars on matchday one, and then a loss to Heart of Lions in their second outing. These results have led to calls for the coach’s dismissal from frustrated supporters.
However, Nyaho-Tamakloe remains optimistic that the Ivorian coach will prove his critics wrong and turn things around. Speaking to Angel TV, he urged patience from the fan base.
“The coach has been given the freedom by the board to select his own players and train them, and that is exactly what he’s doing. If we have lost two matches, that doesn’t mean we have failed, or that the coach has failed,” Nyaho-Tamakloe stated.
“I strongly believe that the way they are playing now, they will soon gel beautifully, and all these doubting Thomases will see that it takes time to train players.
All I’ll tell the supporters is that they should just be patient.”Hearts of Oak currently sit at the bottom of the league table after two matches and are preparing to face Bechem United in their next fixture.
