The Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi is fully prepared to host football matches, according to Patieno Adams, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the National Sports Authority (NSA) in Kumasi.
In an interview with Akoma FM, Adams confirmed that all renovation work on the stadium has been completed and the facility is now ready for use. However, Adams noted that they are currently awaiting official clearance from the authorities in Accra before the stadium can be opened to the public.
“All work at the Baba Yara Stadium is completed and ready to host any football events, but we are awaiting clearance from our masters in Accra before the facility can be opened,” Adams stated.
This final clearance is the only remaining step before the stadium can once again host football matches and other sporting activities, marking a significant milestone for sports fans in Kumasi.
The completion of the stadium’s work is particularly exciting for Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC, who have been playing their home matches at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi. Once the clearance is granted, Kotoko is expected to return to their favorite home ground to the delight of their fans.
