Asante Kotoko head coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum has cautioned his team against underestimating Basake Holy Stars as they prepare for their Week 8 Ghana Premier League clash.
The match, set for Sunday, October 27, kicks off at 15:00 GMT at the CAM Park in Ayinase.
Kotoko heads into the game in strong form, having won their last three matches, each by a narrow 1-0 margin, and currently sits in second place in the league standings.
However, Ogum emphasized the importance of maintaining focus against the league newcomers, who hold a record of two wins, one draw, and four losses in their first seven matches.
“The only threat they can pose to us is if we underrate them,” Dr. Ogum stated. “It’s a psychological thing; if we take them as seriously as any other team in the Premier League and approach them with the same intensity, we should be able to avoid any surprises.”
Dr. Ogum’s message reflects his aim to keep Kotoko’s winning momentum intact, as they pursue the top position in the Ghana Premier League standings.
