Angola’s national team has been hit with six significant player withdrawals just days before their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
Angola who have already booked their spot for the AFCON in Morocco will face Ghana on November 15 in Luanda, followed by their final Group F clash against Sudan on November 18 in Togo.
The players unavailable for the squad include key talents, with various reasons behind each withdrawal:-
Gelson Dala – sidelined due to injury recovery- Rui Modesto – out for personal reasons
Joao Batxi- unavailable due to personal issues
Clinton Mata – recovering from an injury
Ricardo Batista dealing with family matters-
Mabululu – ruled out due to injury
The Angolan technical team has prepared replacements to fill these gaps as they prepare for the two critical games that will determine their qualification fate.
