The Black Galaxies delivered a dominant 5-1 win over Great Olympics in a friendly match this morning at Prampram, as part of their preparations for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.
Having been in camp for nearly a month, the home-based national team showed their growing strength, continuing their rigorous training ahead of the crucial qualifiers.
The match was competitive, with both teams putting up strong performances, but it was the Black Galaxies who emerged victorious, showcasing their superior play throughout.
Yakubu Mohammed was the standout player, scoring twice, while Abdul Rahman (Nsoatreman), Issah Yakubu (Baseke Holy Stars), and Saaka Duada (Asante Kotoko) each contributed a goal to seal the emphatic win.
Looking ahead, Head Coach Mas-ud Didi Dramani and his team will turn their focus to the critical double-header against Nigeria next month.
The winner of this tie will secure qualification for the 2024 CHAN tournament, scheduled to take place in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda from February 1-28, 2025.
The Black Galaxies are determined to build on their performance and improve upon their quarter-final exit in the last edition held in Algeria.
