Asante Kotoko legend Sarfo Gyamfi is confident that his former club will claim victory over Hearts of Oak in their upcoming Ghana Premier League encounter.
The two archrivals will face off at the Baba Yara Stadium on December 14, 2024, during Matchday 13 of the domestic top-flight. The Ghana Premier League is currently on a break due to the upcoming General Elections this weekend.
Sarfo Gyamfi was present on Sunday when Kotoko secured a 2-0 win over Division One League side Future Stars in the FA Cup to progress to the next round.
In an interview with Kessben FM, Gyamfi expressed his firm belief that the Porcupine Warriors will continue their dominance over Hearts of Oak, citing their recent victories in the last three encounters.
“We’ve defeated Hearts of Oak in our last three meetings, and nothing is going to change when we face them this time,” he said. “We don’t care about their recent form.
It’s a different ball game altogether when we take on Hearts of Oak.”“It’s a do-or-die affair. Even if we have to go into the sea and beat them, we will just do that. We are not afraid at all,” he added confidently.
Asante Kotoko currently sit 7th in the Ghana Premier League standings with 18 points, while Hearts of Oak are in 6th place with 19 points.
