Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has expressed his strong determination to win the Ghana Premier League Goal King title at the end of the season.
Amoah, who joined the Porcupine Warriors from Great Olympics in the summer, has made an immediate impact with seven goals in 12 games so far this season.
The 22-year-old was the hero in last Sunday’s Super Clash against Hearts of Oak, scoring a dramatic injury-time goal after a defensive mix-up involving Hearts’ defender Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare, sealing a crucial win for Kotoko. Speaking after the match, Amoah reiterated his goal-scoring aspirations for the season.
“My teammates are always pushing me to score, and they’ve been incredibly supportive, encouraging me to win the Goal King award.
Their motivation drives me to perform better as a striker,” he said. “I’m focused on winning the Goal King title.
“Amoah is determined to maintain his current form as he aims to finish as the top scorer in the league.
Currently, Nations FC’s Faisal Charwetey leads the goal-scoring chart with eight goals, while Amoah follows closely behind with seven.
