Former Asante Kotoko forward, Stephen Manu, has expressed strong confidence that his former club can secure the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title, following their impressive 1-0 victory over Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash on Sunday.
The match saw striker Albert Amoah become the hero, scoring a dramatic injury-time goal after a defensive mix-up involving Hearts’ defender Kelvin Osei Asibey and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare.
Speaking after the game, Manu was emphatic about Kotoko’s potential to clinch the league title this season, praising their performance in the Super Clash.“For sure, no doubt.
I’m convinced Kotoko can win the Premier League considering their performance in the Super Clash. They can win the league hands down if the right things are done,” Manu told Kessben FM.“Kotoko dominated Hearts of Oak, who have been in fine form.
They should have beaten Hearts by a four-goal margin if they had been more clinical. Kotoko could have overwhelmed the Hearts team by scoring more goals, but a win is a win.
”Asante Kotoko currently sit sixth in the Ghana Premier League standings with 21 points from 13 matches, and Manu believes they are on the right track to challenge for the title.
