Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers opponent Chad has fired their head coach Kevin Nicaise following a poor run of results.
Chad’s technical director, Mahamat Oumar Yaya confiremed the sacking of the manager, noting a new manager would be announced after the country’s ongoing electoral process.
Speaking on the situation with China based Ghanaian journalist Tawiah Martin on ghanasportspage.com Yaya explained that the appointment of a coaching staff will depend on the newly elected executive committee and the supervising ministry.
“I don’t know. Chad is in the middle of an electoral process for the election of an executive, so it is up to the latter to appoint a staff to our national team A in consultation with the supervising ministry, of course,” he told Ghana’s best sports outtlet Ghanasportspage.com.
Kevin Nicaise has been in charge of Chad since 2023, therefore, his sacking brings an end to his two-year spell with Les Sao.
Chad failed to qualify to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, finishing bottom of their group with no wins and two draws. They will face Ghana in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on March 17, 2025.
