The Fiapre Circuit Court has refused bail for four individuals accused in connection with the tragic death of Asante Kotoko fan, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.
A report filed by King Solomon Asiedu indicates that the suspects—Isaac Ofosu, Yeboah Augustine, Elizabeth Asosua Ntiriwaa (also known as Akosua Black Chinese), and another unnamed woman—were sent to court today, February 7, 2025, but were denied bail by Her Ladyship Afia Adoma.
According to the presiding judge, the plea from the defence lawyers was out of her jurisdiction since the charges involved a felony. As a result, she ruled that she could not grant them bail at this stage of the proceedings.
Meanwhile, the prosecution requested a bench warrant for two other suspects who are yet to be served. However, the court declined to issue the warrant because the accused individuals had not been formally notified.
The four accused persons are scheduled to reappear before the Fiapre Circuit Court on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 9:00 AM as the legal process unfolds.
The case continues to draw widespread attention as the football community and the family of Nana Pooley seek justice for his tragic demise.
