Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has called on his players to train diligently and secure victories in memory of the late supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Nana Pooley.
Speaking to his players, Coach Ogum emphasized the importance of dedicating their efforts on the pitch to honour his memory.
“It’s unfortunate. Now we need to honour him, we need to dedicate whatever we do to honour him. I’m sure we are ready to honour him. It will be difficult to forget what happened. It will be difficult. But then the only way to honour him is to make sure we train well to win games to make his soul happy,” Ogum said.
He further urged the players and the entire team to remain united in their quest for success, stressing that their commitment and hard work would serve as the best tribute to Pooley’s unwavering support for the club.
“Let’s all come together and make sure that we work very hard to get the results. That’s the most important thing,” he added.
Pooley, a passionate fan of the club, tragically lost his life earlier this month, leaving the Kotoko fraternity in mourning.
Asante Kotoko, who put all first team activities on hold, have resumed training following a meeting with GFA.
