New Asante Kotoko head coach Karim Zito began his reign on a positive note, guiding the Porcupine Warriors to a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Aduana Stars.
Speaking after the match, Zito emphasized the importance of endurance training and sharp finishing in securing the crucial win.
“We worked a little bit with endurance, but the talking was too much, and then I did a lot of finishing. Almost every day I do finishing because at the end of the day, if you don’t shoot, you can’t score,” Zito explained.
The experienced coach expressed satisfaction with how his side translated their training ground efforts into matchday success.
“I’m very happy that at least we got one goal out of what we did,” he added.
Kotoko’s narrow victory gives Zito a solid foundation to build on as the club looks to end the season strongly.
The Porcupines, who are on 50 points, now trail league leaders Bibiani Gold Stars by three points after the win.
