Asante Kotoko interim head coach Karim Zito has praised the positive attitude and growth of his players, highlighting the strong bond he shares with the squad.
Speaking in an interview, Zito emphasized the mutual respect and openness that has defined his time with the team so far.
“There have been a lot of improvements. I’ve seen a lot of improvement. They give me their listening ear. Anytime I talk to them, they listen,” he said.
Zito, known for his calm but effective leadership style, believes managing mature players goes beyond tactics and drills. He explained that understanding their personal lives and treating them with respect has helped build trust.
“They are grownups, some with wives and children, so that is where the management criteria comes in. You don’t have to be shouting all the time,” Zito added.
“Seriously, they enjoy training with me. I’m like their father. We all joke, but I’ve been advising them.”
His impact is being felt both on and off the pitch, and with Kotoko’s recent improved performances, calls for his permanent appointment continue to grow among fans and club legends alike.
