Asante Kotoko are set to name a white coach as their new head coach ahead of the 2025/26 season, as part of a broader restructuring of the club’s technical team.
The move comes after initial talks to make Karim Zito the substantive head coach failed to materialize.Zito, who stepped in on an interim basis following the mid-season departure of Prosper Narteh Ogum, will now transition into the role of Technical Director — a key position that will see him oversee the club’s overall football philosophy, youth development, and long-term technical planning.
Ghanasportspage.com’s sources within the club reveal that negotiations with the new foreign coach are at an advanced stage, with an official announcement expected soon. Meanwhile, the club has engaged another Ghanaian experience coach.
Management is reportedly keen on bringing in a coach with international experience to steer the club back to glory. If appointed, the manager’s first assignment would be leading Kotoko for a pre-season tour in South Africa.
