In a dramatic turn of events, assistant coach Nana Yaw Amankwa and welfare officer (team manager) Carlos Klu were relieved of their duties yesterday. Both were informed in the morning not to report for the afternoon training session, and indeed, they did not show up.
Their dismissal is now confirmed.Coach Abdulai Gazale and Coach Fiifi Hanson Parker are to be the next assistant 1 and 2 coaches, respectively.
Talks are ongoing soon to be confirmed. Abdulai Gazale was in Tamale to scout for talent players for the Wakasu Mubarak’s yet to be established Football Academy.
Henry Martey is to be the next welfare officer (team manager)During the afternoon session, former Ghana international Bernard Don Bortey took charge of training until head *Coach Aboubakar arrived.
After the session, Coach Ouattara gathered the players and made a heartfelt announcement:
it was his final training session with them. He explained that he would now be transitioning into a role on the board or management, which would allow him the flexibility to travel between Ivory Coast and France.
Ouattara informed the team that he would be available via his Ivory Coast or France phone lines in case his Ghana number becomes unreachable.
In an emotional moment, Coach Ouattara broke down in tears in front of the players. He asked for forgiveness from anyone he might have offended during his time with the team.
Notably, absent from both the morning and afternoon sessions was goalkeepers’ trainer Ebenezer Armah, popularly known as “Eben Dida.” The next goalkeeper’s trainer at the Hearts of Oak will be Najawu Issah.
