The young Ghanaian defender, Kelvin Lamptey-Mills has received national youth team call-up to Ghana U-20 for their upcoming WAFU Zone B U-20 Cup of Nations.
Kelvin Lamptey-Mills following his performance with Cyprus outfit MEAP Nisou has earned an invite to serve his country despite being touted by the United State men’s national team. He landed in Accra – Ghana early this week and has already joined his teammates in camp, Prampram for training.
Mills, a reliable center-back with huge prospect is expected to help Ghana U-20 secure slot to the African Cup of Nations tournament after missing out in the last two editions. Though young but already shown great attributes of a good defender.
Ghana’s U-20 team has been drawn in Group A of the WAFU Zone B-20 Cup of Nations alongside Nigeria and Benin. The competition will be held in Accra 2025 and will feature seven West African nations, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semifinals.
It is scheduled to take place from July 10 to 23, 2025, at the GFA Technical Centre in Prampram. This event serves as a key platform for nurturing young talent in the West African sub-region.
The technical team will be hoping to depend on Kelvin Lamptey-Mills exploit in Europe as far as the competition is concerned.
